Gavin Allwright

Gavin Allwright is the Secretary General of the International Windship Association (IWSA), a member driven not for profit organisation of over 150 active stakeholders from across the shipping industry dedicated to developing and facilitating the uptake of wind propulsion in commercial shipping. An integral part of that position is representing the organisation at policy level at both the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and European Sustainable Shipping Forum (ESSF). He also sits as a non-executive board member of the World Wind Energy Association. Gavin holds a Masters’ degree in Sustainable Development and has contributed to many reports, academic papers etc. focused on the decarbonisation of shipping, he is also a visiting lecturer at the World Maritime University.
